What is Coaching?

A coach helps people move from where they are now to where they want to be.  They do not offer advice or make suggestions. The coach walks by your side and will ask  questions to help the individual or group come up with their own answers.

Coaching Academy AccreditedJean completed her training  and is accredited by The Coaching Academy.

It is an interesting and very successful approach that empowers individuals to make changes to their lives with support and the confidence that conversations are confidential.

You can use coaching for any number of reasons, from wanting to improve your decision making to changing career.  Sessions can be anything from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the package you purchase.  Typically though it takes at least 5 coaching sessions to  make change permanent or event establish what change you want to make if you don’t already know what it is.  In my experience you can have just one coaching session and achieve strategies to start the process of change.  However, to achieve long term change the more coaching sessions the better.  If you focus on one particular area 6 sessions of 2 sessions a month is the ideal, in my opinion.  You might think I am just saying that as a Career Coach, however, having been coached myself this approach worked best for me.

My coaching style is very flexible. Depending on my clients needs I will tailor a programme that fits their style and needs.  I am not keen to do one off coaching sessions as I don’t think they are effective and I really want to help people move from where they are to where they want to be.

Jean has also trained as an ADHD Life Coach and is a Certified WISDOM Coach for children.
