I worked for British Airways for over 35 years in a variety of careers, however, spent the majority of my time in the Information Technology department as an IT Project Manager, Resource Manager, Business Manager & Learning & Development Project Manager.
From 2006 I was responsible for pools of over 100 technical and non-technical people. Managing their performance, absence, pay, career development, role assignment and general wellbeing. Coaching, mentoring and career development where key aspects to this role. I then moved into Learning and Development as a project manager with responsibility for developing strategic learning and development initiatives across the Information Technology department e.g. researching, designing and implementing required learning including a Mentoring programme across all levels, competency framework across 7 job families and departmental learning strategy which included the creation of Skills Champions who supported the development of a competency framework.
Whilst working full time, from 2005, I ran a part time business as a CV/resume Writer and career development consultant for over 10 years.
My final role at BA was as the Learning and Systems Manager responsible for the development, configuration and global operation of the company’s new Learning Management System.
Since working for British Airways, I have setup a personal development business, Active Personal Development. APD helps young people and adults to recognise their value in the world of work and supports their development and or transition in order to full fill their potential whilst being the best version of themselves.
I offer a variety of Personal Development services including Career & Life Coaching, CV Writing, Interview Skills and techniques, am an accredited Talent Dynamics Flow Consultant and a certified WISDOM Coach enabling me to use a structured curriculum to coach children. I have volunteered in local schools as an Enterprise Advisor supporting the development of their career strategy and delivered a number of workshops to local schools and took part in the first Buckinghamshire Skills Show in 2016.
My passion is to help children develop a positive mindset with skills to deal with the ups and downs of life. Support young people and adults to become the best version of themselves empowering, inspiring and encouraging them to full fill their potential in life and their careers.
I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Studying a Diploma in Personal Performance and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
Throughout my career journey I have been a mum of 4 children and now have 10 grandchildren along with a lovely husband who all benefit from my coaching skills. So can you!
